Passion to serve

While Elizabeth has lived and worked in Chicago for 23 years, she is originally from Texas. Watching her mother struggle to navigate government agencies, rude representatives and red tape after her dad died at age 12 left a lasting impression and led to a career in pushing for fair and equitable treatment for all.

Motivated to change the way government treats its “customers”, Elizabeth’s record in public and private sectors from Texas and Washington D.C. to Chicago has prepared her to give the 44th Ward a fresh start and transparency as a full-time alderman.

As a working mom of three children Elizabeth knows first-hand the challenges of affording to raise a family in the city. She wants to ensure families can continue to stay in Lakeview by stopping continued property-tax hikes and making sure money goes back to our schools.

As a parent, I have to be mindful of our budget on a daily basis, and treat my children with respect, empathy and with a unifying voice. I don’t pick favorites in my home, and won’t pick favorites as Alderman. One community - one unifying effort to be the best we can be!
